The Legend of Bandung Baru Village

                 One upon a time, not long after independent day of Indonesia, There was many houses that build in the edge of Begawan Solo river. It’s the longest river in east java. That houses are builded by society orderly. So that it formed a village. But that village didn’t had name. The society life happyly, the estates are fertile. Buuut.. time by time, because of erosion of Begawan Solo river , it was made the land of that village shattered. Many houses was smashed.

                The Goverenment ask society to moved into other land. So the goverenment gave or borrowed a wide land beside Padang Bandung village. The society was agreed. They moved into new land and build houses there. That vilage still didn’t had name. until someday, the society founded a crops (someone that have died) that no one knew about him. It was made the society amazed. So that village was named “Kali Gawok”. Kali mean river and Gawok mean supprized.

                Day by day, Kali Gawok changed to be Bandung Baru (New Bandung) because it was located beside Padang Bandung village. The society also life happyly there, and some houses that still didn’t  moved or still in the edge of Begawan Solo river was named Bandung Lama (Old Bandung). It was different between Bandung Baru and Bandung Lama. But Padang Bandung, Bandung Lama and Bandung Baru have one head village. So it stll had relation. Altough they had different area, they life harmoniously.

                That’s the legend of “Bandung Baru”. The small, clean, and fresh village. The story of name change “Kali Gawok” tobe “Bandung Baru”. That name still used till now.
